Super Pano

Implant Planning

The use of superimposition with cephalometric images to track treatment outcomes and growth is an established practice in the orthodontics.  Assessing treatment outcomes with the 3D superimposition of 3D CBCT volume data is groundbreaking in its simplicity.
InVivoDental 3D imaging software allows two CBCT scans to be opened at the same time in 3D and to be superimposed based on registering common stable landmarks on each scan. The result is a 3D volume rendering of both scans with different coloring to highlight the difference between the scans.  Superimposed cross sections are also shown. This is an excellent tool to assess the change that took place between the two scans, whether it was orthodontic treatment, orthognathic surgery, or growth and development based upon the registration landmarks of choice.

Uses also include the assessment of the TMJ by superimposing scans with the patient in the open and closed mouth positions. This new technology has many applications in other fields of dentistry and medicine as well.  This is wonderful for comparison of before pre & post treatments for research purposes, study club analysis, and lectures or educational presentations.
